The newest round is Pixxel's $100M Series C co-led by Temasek and Seraphim Space, India's largest-ever funding round for a space technology company, bringing the Bangalore satellite startup's total funding to $195M as it expands from hyperspectral imaging into a broader planetary-infrastructure platform.

Before that, Mistral AI's €3B ($3.5B) Series D at a €21B+ valuation, led by Samsung Electronics with Scaleup Europe Fund (EQT) and PSG Equity co-leading, which Mistral says is the largest all-equity round any European tech company has closed; the Paris lab nearly doubled its €11.7B valuation from a year earlier and is spending the money on its own European data centers to back its "sovereign AI" pitch, open-weight models, infrastructure and compute a customer can run without a foreign hyperscaler in the loop.

Before that, Guardio's $40M raise at a $1.1B valuation, backed personally by Wiz co-founder and CEO Assaf Rappaport (who sold Wiz to Google for $32B in March), taking the Tel Aviv consumer cybersecurity startup's total funding to $167M on the back of 1M+ paying customers and $150M ARR; the round is a bet that AI has made scam content cheap enough to produce at volume that consumer-grade AI defense is now its own venture category, not just an enterprise one.

Before that, Wonderful's $550M Series C at a $5B valuation, led by Insight Partners with Salesforce participating, more than doubling the Amsterdam-based enterprise AI orchestration startup's worth in under six months, a notable bet on the infrastructure layer that coordinates agents and workflows across a company rather than another point-solution AI app.

Before that, Crusoe's $3B+ raise at a roughly $30B valuation, tripling its worth in 10 months on the back of a $13B GPU supply deal with Jane Street, the clearest sign yet that AI infrastructure buyers now extend well beyond hyperscalers and frontier labs. The clear pattern in mid-2026 venture: the biggest checks go to AI infrastructure and frontier research rather than AI apps, and increasingly they come from chip and cloud suppliers investing in their own customers.

Prometheus leads the rounds we've tracked at $12B, followed by DeepSeek at $7B, then Anthropic and Safe Superintelligence tied at $5B. The SSI round is the clearest example of the supplier-as-investor pattern: Nvidia's reported ~$5B went to a lab with no product and no revenue, paired with a Vera Rubin compute commitment that routes much of the money back to Nvidia as hardware revenue.

Below the megarounds, infrastructure still dominates, with Joulent's $1.75B for AI-datacenter energy and Baseten's $1.5B Series F for inference, while defense draws large checks too (Shield AI's $1.5B Series G at a $12.7B valuation, Quantum Systems' $1.2B) and prediction markets sit close behind (Kalshi, $1B at $22B). Agentic infrastructure keeps drawing capital, with Taktile's $110M Series C for automated risk decisioning.

Physical AI is now pulling in China-scale checks too: XPeng's robotics arm Dogotix raised over $900M at a $6.3B valuation, the largest private embodied-intelligence round in China to date. Fintech aimed at underbanked immigrants is drawing capital too: Felix's $200M Series C split equity and debt to fund AI-driven, WhatsApp-native remittances built on USDC rails.

AI-agent security is now its own funding category: AIR Security raised a $50M seed across two same-day rounds to build a real-time firewall that vets what AI agents are allowed to touch.
